Tottenham defender Destiny Udogie has been identified as the Premier League player allegedly threatened at gunpoint by a football agent in north London on 6 September.
The 21-year-old was reportedly out with a friend in Cockfosters Parade, Barnet, when the incident occurred. Police were called and arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, as well as blackmail and driving without a licence. He has been released on bail while investigations continue.
The suspect is not Udogie’s agent, and no charges have yet been filed. Udogie, who was not on international duty with Italy at the time, returned to action a week later in Tottenham’s 3–1 win over West Ham.
A Spurs spokesperson said the club “has been providing support for Destiny and his family since the incident and will continue to do so.”
Police confirmed no one was injured in the confrontation and that a second man — Udogie’s friend — was also allegedly targeted with threats and blackmail.
