Fire engines raced to the Red Fort metro station gate after authorities reported the explosion. Firefighters battled flames engulfing multiple vehicles while rescuers evacuated the injured. Emergency personnel coordinated to secure the area and prevent further damage.
Witnesses Describe Shocking Scene
A local resident told NDTV he heard a “window-shattering sound” and then saw cars ablaze. Police spokesman Sanjay Tyagi confirmed the deaths and injuries. He added, “We are investigating the cause of the blast.” The Red Fort, a former imperial palace and major tourist landmark, stood surrounded by damaged vehicles and a heavy police presence.
