Harry Kane struck a stoppage-time header to spare Bayern Munich their first defeat of the season in a 2-2 draw at Union Berlin, extending the champions’ unbeaten run but ending their record-breaking winning streak across all competitions.
Union looked on course for an upset when Danilho Doekhi scored his second goal in the 83rd minute, but Kane’s 13th Bundesliga goal of the season salvaged a point. Bayern, now on 28 points, sit six clear at the top after RB Leipzig’s 3-1 loss at Hoffenheim.
Bayern had trailed for the first time in the league this season when Manuel Neuer allowed Doekhi’s weak shot to slip under him in the 27th minute. Luis Díaz equalised with a spectacular curling strike before halftime, but Union retook the lead late on — only for Kane to make amends after failing to clear a free kick moments earlier.
“It wasn’t our best game, but we stayed focused,” Kane said. “It would’ve been worse to go into the break with a defeat. Sixteen wins in a row is incredible, but now we move on.”
Elsewhere in Germany, Borussia Dortmund were also denied late, conceding a 97th-minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Hamburg after Carney Chukwuemeka had put them ahead. Dortmund remain third, seven points behind Bayern.
In Serie A, Milan threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Parma, missing the chance to go top. Rafael Leão’s penalty and Alexis Saelemaekers’ early strike were cancelled out by Adrián Bernabé and Enrico Delprato, leaving Milan level on 22 points with leaders Napoli.
Juventus were held to a goalless home draw in the Turin derby against Torino, while in La Liga, Antoine Griezmann came off the bench to score twice in Atlético Madrid’s 3-1 win over Levante.
In Ligue 1, Marseille returned to the summit with a 3-0 victory over Brest, as Lens stunned Monaco 4-1 away to climb within a point of the leaders.
