Arsenal and Crystal Palace have had their Premier League matches moved to ease fixture congestion before their Carabao Cup quarter-final meeting on Tuesday, 23 December.
Originally set to play on Sunday, 21 December, Arsenal’s trip to Everton and Palace’s visit to Leeds United will now kick off at 8pm on Saturday, 20 December.
The Premier League said the decision prioritised player welfare, citing the tight schedule caused by expanded European competitions. Palace, who face KuPS in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, 18 December, requested the change to allow more recovery time before the Arsenal tie.
The league thanked Leeds and Everton for their cooperation, confirming both rescheduled matches will still be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
